It is our honor to announce the first International Conference on Biophysical Chemistry (ICBC) will be held on June 13 - 15, 2012 in Ardabil, Iran.

In ICBC will contribute the transfer of scientific information and research results to practical applications, particularly in the subject of diagnostics and treatment of deleterious human diseases via biophysical approach. We have organized a 3-day core program together with workshops which will bring you the latest updates and an excellent occasion for scientific exchange.

Workshops

1) Gene specific silencing in biomedical research (2 sessions for 60 minutes each):
Description: The Nobel Prize winning technology of gene specific silencing has revolutionized
the world of experimental medicine. The possibility of inhibiting the expression of a protein in
a specific and permanent manner has a wide spectrum of application in cellular biology, biochemistry
cancer research and drug discovery.
Following titles are reviewed in this workshop:
A-The molecular basis of gene specific silencing
B-Designing inhibitory RNA molecules
C-Introduction of inhibitory RNA molecules to cells
D- Evaluation of gene silencing

2) General methods in cancer stem cell research (2 sessions for 60 minutes each):
The theory of “Cancer Stem Cells” is gaining momentum day by day in the world of oncology.
According to this theory, a fraction of cells within each tumor are in charge of giving rise to all cell types within a tumor.
Such cells repopulate the tumor mass and therefore any effective tumor therapy will need to take these cell into considerations.
Following titles are reviewed in this workshop:
A-The principles of Cancer Stem Cell theory
B- Markers of Cancer Stem Cells
C-Isolation of Cancer Stem Cells
D- Studying Cancer Stem Cells in-vivo and in-vitro
